PhD position in surface processes at Georgia Tech
Perfil del puesto:
The Georgia Tech Surface Processes Group is welcoming applicants to the PhD program in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences starting in Fall 2016. Our research group works on a range of subjects from landscape evolution to silicate weathering to sea level dynamics, and uses a range of tools to study these phenomena, including cosmogenic nuclides, field instrumentation, trace element geochemistry, and numerical modeling. We are looking for a student to join an NSF-funded project on sea-level responses to the erosion and deposition of sediment, with a focus on understanding sea-level patterns at the mid-Pliocene climate optimum, a time often used to forecast ice sheet stability under modern climate change.
Prospective students are encouraged to contact Ken Ferrier (ferrier@gatech.edu) for more information, and to see http://www.eas.gatech.edu/academics/app-process/ for details on how to apply by the January 1 deadline.
