Plymouth University funded PhD studentships

Plymouth University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering is currently advertising for approx. 20 university-funded PhD studentships with starting dates in October 2015 or January 2016.

There are four geomorphology-centred topics on offer, covering the following topics:

- Impacts of soil erosion on river basin ecosystem services: supporting soil conservation measures for food and water security in East Africa (Prof William Blake)

- Monitoring the dynamics of gravels added to upland rivers to offset aquatic habitat loss (Dr Peter Downs)

- Outburst floods: their past and future role in shaping Iceland’s landscape (Dr Stephanie Mills)

- Star dunes: dune and dunefield scale morphometry and aeolian dynamics (Dr Matt Telfer)
